Dear Skyler,
A lot has changed since the first day you walked into the school. It may take some time adjusting I know, but you'll get used to it. These next 4 years of your life is going to be pivotal for your future. In these next few years, you're going to figure out A LOT about who you are, and who the people are around you. Now of course, what would a letter to my younger self be without some advice? It's better to know what your going to be going in to, before it actually happens and catches you off guard.
Some friendships are going to be built to last a lifetime, some are going to be destroyed but the important thing is, just keep on doing you. Whatever that "you" is, keep on it. Don't let other things bug you because the truth is, 90% of the people you meet and the people you talk to won't necessarily be relevant as soon as you get out of this place. Now, with that being said, a little drama is always fun, especially in high school. Personally, I think that's a crucial part of the high school experience. Just don't be too shocked when it happens because believe me, it'll hit hard. From the people you least expect it to be from.
As for right now, grade 12 will be the hardest part of your high school experience. As soon as you get those acceptances to universities, the weather starts getting warmer and you start to see the light at the end of the tunnel, you will have no motivation to do any work what so ever. You may not think so right now, but trust me, once all your friends start not doing work, it'll have a bigger influence on you than you think.
I don't want to tell you too much about the future because I don't want too much to change but I will say this; when you look back at your years of high school and elementary school, they'll be some of your best years of your life.
Sincerely,
Skyler
